More Reasons People Found to Hate Me

mandymorbid:

So, a long time ago I started playing Dungeons & Dragons. Well really I started playing Warhammer 40K first, and painting the minis while I was recovering from surgery. I wasn’t healing properly and I didn’t respond to my post op pain medication—in fact it made me so sick I stopped taking it less…

People really suck sometimes.

That’s casual.

That’s casual.

sirshannon said: Suggest a DC title for me, I currently read none. My (digital) pull list is Hawkeye, Captain Marvel, Thor God of Thunder, the X-Men titles (via Marvel Unlimited), Sex Criminals, East of West, Saga, and some assorted older things including anything by Warren Ellis or Alan Moore. Thanks!

virginiagentlenerd:

Well, the best Alan Moore DC book is Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow - it’s available in trade now. Superman story. The trade also includes his Superman/Swamp Thing story and the remarkable “For the Man Who Has Everything”, which is a Superman/Batman/Wonder Woman story.

Current DC titles are a little short on the lightness and humor, with the exception of Harley Quinn by Amanda Conner, Jimmy Palmiotti & Chad Hardin. You need to be ready for very dark, goofy humor.

If you like Captain Marvel, or Guardians of the Galaxy, check out Robert Venditti’s Green Lantern & Van Jensen’s Green Lantern Corps. They’re companion books. Carol Danvers & Hal Jordan are very much alike. John Stewart is basically Rhodey in space with a magic ring. GL is Hal’s book, GLC is John’s book. Venditti does a great job folding interesting political/social subtext into grand space adventures.

Happy reading, @sirshannon!

Thanks!
