Anonymous said: for a newbie too comics, where would you suggest someone start reading for the character Carol Danvers?
definitely captain marvel vol 7. it’s where i started :)
i think this volume is a great jumping point for carol. it’s her first solo series as captain marvel instead of ms marvel, it’s written by kelly sue deconnick who also writes her current run (vol 8), and it’s an amazing volume. seriously though vol 7 is so cool and it’s so easy to read, and some pretty important stuff happens to carol so i’d recommend reading that in order to better understand the place carol is in when vol 8 starts. especially the enemy within arc, that ties in with two captain marvel v7 issues plus two avengers assemble issues and a one-shot issue.
also, this volume has some great supporting characters such as tracy burke (the sass master), kit renner (carol’s 7 year old biggest fan), jessica drew in some issues (CAROLJESS), monica rambeau (!!!!!!!!) and others.
i just really love this volume okay you should definitely read it and then start vol 8 (the current run) :)
update: i forgot to mention that vol 7 also has flashbacks that explain how carol got her powers so that’s a bonus
